We only use plant based ingredients, and nothing else. That means: NO artificial sweeteners (like Aspartame), NO plastic gum base, NO artificial flavours, and NO preservatives (like BHT).
Naturally sweetened with 100% xylitol that is tooth friendly. Xylitol helps reduce plaque formation, and helps neutralize plaque acids.
Most gum is made with a plastic gum base. Chewsy is not. Our gums use a natural, plastic-free gum base which make our gums biodegradable and planet-friendly.
We started Chewsy after discovering that regular chewing gum is made of a plastic gum base, as well as artificial flavours and sweeteners like aspartame. Yes, you're chewing on plastic! It’s hidden in the term "gum base" and contains up to 70 petrochemicals, and almost nobody knows about it. We knew it was time to be chewsy!
We ditched all the gross, health-harming, chemically-modified stuff that you usually find in gum, and decided to make a plastic free gum that is better for you and the planet.
Chewing gum is the second largest form of litter in the world, and the annual clean-up cost of chewing gum in the UK is £7 million. The plastic gum base in regular gum are the same as those found in plastic bottles and car tyres. And they never break down.
The plant based gum base that makes Chewsy natural and biodegradable is chicle, a tree sap from the rainforests of Central America.
Not only is our gum plastic free but so is our packaging. Our gums are packed in a flip box made of recyclable paper.
